Pete and Duck
by jwin
One thing that they both have in common is that they both tried to professionally undermine Don and failed miserably. (Hopefully Duck caries around a couple of Trojans)

Which brings up something which has been bugging me. In the very first episode, Peggy sees a gynecologist (on Joan's recommendation) in order to get some birth control. She gets it (the doctor tells her not to become the "town pump". charming) Then, a very short time later, she sleeps with Pete and gets pregnant. When she picks up the college student, she avoids sex because he has no Trojans, but suggests alternatives, which proves it was "social disease" that concerned her. Where's the birth control??

The Pill was expensive! As I recall it was about $15 a month when I was working as a bank teller in 1965 and making $3300 a year... before taxes.
