Bush wanted Iraq's oil but bin Laden, the 911 perp, was known to be hiding inconveniently in Afghanistan. So Bush sent some flesh and blood resources into the 'Ghan to cover the gaping hole in his war on terror logic. In no time at all Bush was saying in public he doesn't spend "that much time on him (bin Laden) anymore."

Well shit. Now nearly a decade has gone. The further we wander away from the initial cause of our problems, the less likely it is we'll ever get out in an orderly fashion.

Every month Obama stays in the 'Ghan, it becomes his war, and becomes less of the responsibility of the strident asshole who started it.

It's not "Ghan." It's Bananastan (noun) 1. A banana-republic style regime in Central Asia ruled by a U.S. backed puppet government. 2. The Central Asian version of a banana republic in Central America, that can be compared to United Banana Kingdom.

I'm amazed none of the board experts have a clue how to win in AfghanLand. Obama has an ingenius plan to wait another 10 or 20 years until Bin Laden dies a "natural" death and then we proclaim Victory....Yeah we WIN!!!!
