Grey and Mora, Two of the Seven Army NCO's that co-wrote an Op-Ed piece for the NY Times, died in a Truck accident near Baghdad. The truck rolled over killing them and Five other soldiers. Eleven others were hurt in the accident. Why it happened is unknown at this time. One soldier that also helped write the article, received a gun shot wound to the head, before the article was published. He is recovering slowly we are told, at a hospital in Germany.
The Op-Ed piece gave their view of the war, how it is being fought and their opinion of the outcome. oon after the article was in the Times, the rmy announced they would be screening any correspondence that would be considered for publication.
The article in question did not give away any military secrets. There was one item particulary disturbing. It appears the Iraqi officers also belonged to their own Militas after a day of looking and finding any IED's, at night, these officers would be some where making IED's to plant along roadsides the American troops would be patroling the next day. This is not the way war is supposed to work.
They agreed with the many people saying the war could not be won Militarily. This would mean Politicaly is the only way to bring to an end the fighting. on that front, little has been accomplished.
I send my condolences to the families and friends of Grey anf Mora they both served their country with honor and pride. I don't remember the name of the wounded soldier, to him a wish for a speedy and complete recovery
