Well done
by Dlk
As a practicing emergency physician for the last 17 years in high volume emergency departments, people are often surprised to find out I have never seen or heard of a patient presenting with a life threatening food allergy. There are occasional allergic reactions that might be related to food, but never life threatenting. I have always wondered where these stories come from. Taking money from a group and promoting their agenda is absolutely wrong, no matter how you look at it. Unfortunately this is a common practice for academic physicians. I applaud your work.

There could be many reasons for this.

Many people are treated PRIOR to coming to the ER with EPI pen or TwinJect.

I'm sure glad that the day my son was presenting with life threatening symptoms after exposure to peanut butter that you were not on duty that day.

Why? If the OP had been on duty, then they would have one example case they had dealt with. Just because they've never seen a life-threatening allergic reaction doesn't mean they're a bad doctor.
