Some docs bashing health care reform.....
by tap

I have been looking for a new primary care physician for my personal care. I made an appointment today with a doctor I know nothing about.

Should I have asked if he was against any reform in our health care system? Should I have asked if he was a republican who wants Obama to fail?

My appointment is Tuesday. I will ask some questions and let you know how it goes.

You need sound.

My advice: balance your need against you level of comfort with him. Then decide to ask the questions.

Only, I'd lead into the questions I wanted answered by sneaking my position into the initial small talk.

"Gee, can you believe those senate Republicans don't want healthcare reform?"

"If Obama knuckles under to the radical right, I may not vote for him again."

Something along those lines may work better than a head-on approach.

I am leaving the clinic at my Air Force base. I have been happy with their care, but my PCP has been deployed and I decided it was time for a change.

I have a diagnosis. I injured my knee and need a surgical repair of a medial meniscus tear. I will see an orthopedic surgeon, but just wanted someone to manage my care.

It's no big deal, but I want a physician who thinks like I do.

Would it be inappropriate to ask: "You have asked me many personal questions. May I ask one of you? What is your opinion on the Obama health care plan?

You are my fellow dog lover on this board. Thank you. It made me cry, but that's OK. I had to put my Jack Russell Terrier down a year ago.

I won't get another dog, but have considered being a foster mom for rescused bassett hounds or Jack Russell's.

If he is any good, he'll likely be against the plan.

TAP - if he/she drives a Merdedes or BMW then they are probably CON!!!

ask them how many $100's of thousands in loans they racked up.

Oh really? What do you have against a reform of heath care other than "gubbbbbernt involvement"?

We have had insurance company involvement for too many years and that is why 42,000,000 Americans are not covered and thousands have declared bankruptcy because they can't pay their medical bills.

Bush never did a damn thing. He ignored the problem, and now we have a plan and you are against it.

No surprise there.

Your post doesn't make any sense. If they drive a BMW, they are probably CON?

Of course we know that people with advanced degrees rack up big loans. So, should we let them get away with overbilling because we "feel sorry for them"?

I had a consulatation with a specialist recently. His office billed $585 for that half hour visit. My insurance paid considerably less than that. And I am one of the lucky ones who ACTUALLY has insurance.

Reform is needed and it needed NOW!

One of our cars is a BMW

And my husband and I are definitely NOT cons. Gawd, what a simpleton you are.

I remember your Jack Russell, tap. He passed about a year after our 12 year old Golden. I had to take time to grieve, but we did adopt another rescue dog about 7 months after Rusty died. And before Rusty, we had a Border Collie rescue (along with a non pedigree German Shepherd). I don't think I will ever be without a dog around, but I understand how you feel. DO consider being a foster mom!!

Some doctors seem to be a dumb as the tea baggers. They just happen to hold our lives in their hands.

The only way we are going to keep our outstanding healthcare is to put individuals in charge of the healthcare choices.

Bush's prescription drug plan was a bandaid on a broken oppressive system. The answer is not to give more power and control to the feds.
