You know Wulk, this is a classic example that if our gov't would stay the hell out of other countries' business, the people themselves would soon find their common grounds.

That's kind of what America used to be like. We would join in on various celebrations and activities that had usually been indigenous to specific areas. Some of the various customs would rub off on others. It's what made us a great melting pot. Now people just want to isolate the different groups and pit them against each other.

I'm not suprised at pipe bands etc in America, and our other colonies, as many clansmen immigrated voluntarily, or otherwise. In fact clan McLeod now numbers 24m against the present day population of Scotland, 5m.

But... The Germans! I would have thought that they would have had enough of the pipes during WW I and II.

The Jerries just like wearing skirts.

Everybody else in the world is a blood member of Clan MacHuannabee. But the Germans are kinky.. and don't understand that a kilt is NOT a skirt. And that a Sporran has a modest masculine function other than carrying about one's spare change.

Don't forget about all those good Teutons who run about playing at Red Indians every summer. Perhaps they think Scotti and Picti are Amerind Tribes like Kiowa or Cheyenne?

{German Anthropologist} "Warum sprechen Sie all so gut Deutsch?"

{Kiowa Indian Chief} "Wuff!!! Darum wir haben alle Karl May gelesen!"

My dad's family is McAngus (can't trace it very far as not much family left in US). If you noticed, the pipe bands were at Highland games in all the various locations.

Celtic civilization and language are believed to have originated in the area commonly known as Germany/Austria. The Celts have had a great influence on western European civilization, so it seems to me that Germany is a perfect place.
