"The VA misdiagnosed 1,200 patients"
by cassandra
This headline was presumably meant to inflame us against Veterans Administration medical care and, hence, against national health care in general. But good grief, how many people got wrong diagnoses in private hospitals? My own father was wrongly (thank God) told he had a brain tumor when it was a stroke, and an uncle was told he had lumbago when it really was myeloma. I feel sure almost everyone here has a similar tale to tell.

The real shocker in the VA is the "Ddeath Book" the Obama Dept of Veteran Affairs has re-instated. First published in 1997 it was immediately cut bu the caring and passionate Bush and Cheney whitehouse in 2001. Since Obama Was sworn in this "Death Book was re-instated by the new Administration.

The book is designed to make disabled veterans feel a burden to their families and elect to sign a DNR. Reading the book shows a far more sinister objective of actually making our heros feel depressed enough to take their own life.

New format for Slate; same old lies from Texas Pete! Say, Pete, why aren't you at work? You posted at 8:13Am on a workday. Does your boss know you're stealing from the company? Did you manage to read all 1,000+ pages of the healthcare bill that has not been completed yet?
