Obama's approval ratings lower than Bush's

Obama's approval ratings are now lower than George W Bush's after the same time in office.

A new poll says that Americans, concerned over the future of health care reform and anxious about the growing federal budget deficit, are losing faith in President Obama.

The Washington Post-ABC News survey found that less that half of Americans -- 49 percent -- say they believe the president will make the right decisions for the country. That's down from 60 percent at the 100-day mark of the Obama presidency.

The poll published Friday says Obama's overall approval is 57 percent, 12 points lower than it was at its peak in April. Fifty-three percent disapprove of the way he's handling the budget deficit and his approval on health care continues to deteriorate.

The national survey was conducted Aug. 13-17 and has a sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points.

You reckon Obama should get another 9/11 going to push up his popularity - worked for Bush!
Re: And It is all Obama and the Democrats fault...

Nothing has happened that's completely unexpected to change the situation, the problems are all the inept way Obama and the Democrats are running, or trying to run, the country.

Sure sign the Democrats are planning to dump Obama: Hillary quits as Secretary of State so that she can run for President in 2012.

No way he wouldn't know if Bush was involved in 911 as you claim.

So, is Obama in on it too?

I wouldn´t bother too much MWG, -Wulkybugger isn´t an American and is only one notch above the scumbag ¨AIL¨ - always something negative to say about America. Wulk would be speaking German if not for the USA, so lacks gratitude also.

I hope we do so again in the future.

I disagree with much of what he says, but, I give him credit for thinking about it and not just following the leader like so many here do.

I'm amazed and disappointed by how many here are willing to just parrot what their party tells them to say without considering whether it makes sense. Wulk is not like that and I give him credit for it.

I guess comparing Wulk to AIL was unfair. AIL is stuck on ¨hate America¨ for any and every cause and Wulk isn´t like that in all things. Deep-seeded Liberal, but not outright America hater, so Wulk, I apologize for my generalities. Still, the 9/11 Bush remark was overkill, something I expect from Squirreley or Looney and my goodness, they are Americans.

Ye Gods compliments! Aside from that, look at the Bush popularity figures pre, and post 9/11.

these things don't always work in the person in power's favor...

Chamberlain mucked it up "Peace in our time" and we had a bloody world war. If the Germans had blown up the Tower of London, and we then declared war on them, he'd probably have been popular, for a bit.

of Obama's policies which is very likely.
Re: Depends on whether the attack was seen as a failure

The same could be said of the Bush mobs' policies - Condi Rice didn't even look at the Al Queda file until the day before 9/11 - yet, on the whole, they didn't get the blame, it was all payback time.

Aw, Wulk, Bush didn't anything prior to 9/11 except vacation at his "ranch"--31 days. And when Katrina hit, he was on another 29 day vacation. He was asleep at the switch when 9/11 hit and fumbled the rest of his terms, played the national security card to hang on for eight long years and drove the country into a ditch.
