You get what you deserve

Selling counterfeit wine is very close to being a victimless crime. The rich fools who lose their money will never miss it and, in fact, are so cavalier they don't even attempt to protect themselves from fraud. Take the example of the bottles purported to have been Thomas Jefferson's: Despite spending $500,000, the new owner waited nearly two decades before even attempting to verify authenticity. And was the fraud discovered because of some new-fangled testing? No, the initials on the bottles were fake and Jefferson's records didn't mention the wine. So much for exercising due diligence before making a major purchase. People this dumb deserve to be taken.
