Or Bob Plato either.
That's because...
by aeschylus
Aristotle and Plato were their respective first names, dumbass. Ancient Greeks went by their first names plus a patronymic, much like the Scots back in the Braveheart days.

and 'Plato' wasn't Plato's first name, it was a nickname.
"Plato" was a nichname...
by aeschylus
...according to *late sources*. The same sort of sources that said Aeschylus was killed by an eagle that dropped a tortoise on his head. It's very likely garbage.

Apologies for the typo. But some topics get my blood up.
Remember your tradition

After looking at this thread, I have to ask what's become of classical studies. Remember, nothing in excess.

I thought Plato was a nickname for 'Zimmerman.'

And his teacher of course was Tom T. Socrates.

And what exactly makes you an expert on Aeschylus? :P

And yet here he is posting away thousands of years later!! It'd take more than a turtle on the head to get aeschyus to put down the aul stilus!!

I never mind about typos...

Really, you don't think it's true? I certainly don't know, but it made sense to me. If Plato does mean 'broad', seems like an unlikely name, esp. with 'Aristocles' available.
