Why are people carrying guns to public events?

If you are alarmed by people carrying guns to public events (like me) can you explain why this phenomenon is occurring now?

Why did it occur at Minuteman Rallies?

Apparently carrying an assault rifle to meet the President is "free speech", now.

No, really try harder than a pithy remark.

Why are people carrying guns to public events?

The Devil, er, Obama made them do it!

Honest! BigLiaR says so.

Have you got a point?

How/why did Obama make them do? They haven't done it for many, many years now.

Yes I do!

Your contention is that people openly carrying weapons in public is a recent occurence solely attributed to Obama's heinous and non existent anti gun regulations. That is patently false because there were people openly carrying weapons in public before Obama got elected.

Thanks for playing. The last contestant took the last of the Rice a Roni, so we don't have a consolation prize for you. Sorry for you.

So at this point, BigLR would excuse Obama's assassination by that same rationale, wouldn't he?
Four years is "many, many"

What a strange world you must live in.

LOL.

I wouldn't excuse the assination. I don't want it to happen secondarily for the reason it could destroy social order.

I'd want that person(s) to feel the full weight of the law. Why do you falsely assert my position? Does it gain you false credibility you feel comfortable with for some reason?

Why is it news worthy if it isn't recent to have weapons carried at public events?
It was newsworthy then.
by Cerulean_Mutt

It's newsworthy now.

What, you don't thinks it's important to note that some gun nuts think it necessary to carry a gun to public rally about health care? It's just embarrassing to your side is all, and you're just trying to save face. Sorry, it ain't working.

Why not, Big? If "defending our Constitutional rights" can entail bringing a weapon within range of the President because "he wants to take them away"....why not the NEXT step???

It's not embarrassing at all; it's life affirming. It shows I'm not the only one upset with Obama and his wrong views on the 2nd Amendment. If it wasn't for him these statements (bearing arms) would not have to be made. I'm upset that these statements have to be made. I blame Obama.
