The word for the day is moribund:

 • Main Entry: mor·i·bund
 • Pronunciation: \ˈmr-ə-(ˌ)bənd, ˈmär-\
 • Function: adjective
 • Etymology: Latin moribundus, from mori to die — more at murder
 • Date: circa 1721

1 : being in the state of dying : approaching death
2 : being in a state of inactivity or obsolescence

Thanks to Merriam Webster online.

Example of usage:

Poetry is not dead, but the PoemFray is definitely moribund.

To respond to your naming of the poems fray and our current situation

Moribund,

which imho, mirrors society and the world at large completely

……….and the oppressive nature of hypocrites and sycophants

and people who support them and enable them here

on poetry fray, which is inherently reactionary

and deadly to the creative spirit ………

i agree , it is moribund...........and bursickly

I found a video song which isn’t bad.

Maybe you can hold a contest dealing with flowers in poetry or something.

You know, brighten up the place a bit.

lol

Hi, NoStar, What would you suggest to un-moribund us?
Not really.

It was touch and go there for awhile, but the moderator has banned one of the worst offenders.

I'm hopeful that those who looked in while that poster was spamming and plagiarizing will look in again, and find that the P-fray is, after all, about legitimate discussion and original offerings.

Not really.

I wouldn't say the forum is moribund, as the discussions of the Tuesday poems have been quite good; real discussions, not flame wars. It can be made better if we stuck to the topics at hand, poets and their works, and had reasonable discourses about style, meaning, quality.
What unfair rules you play by

blahblah...,

You emphatically ordered me to leave you "the fuck alone" and I complied, staying off the threads you created. Yet, you feel at liberty to post directly to me. Is this a double standard? Was your repeated LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE just irony that went over my head? Or are you a dangerous certifiable nut-job that should be avoided at all costs?

Inquiring minds want to know.

That's a prescription that the patient will refuse like an alcoholic who will not face up to his problem.
If that were true, Cat

you would not still be here.

No , I often forget easily what I said last month.

As the Titanic sank.

Or as the great Victor Borge said, "They started by playing Chopin, but soon they began to Liszt."

It’s impossible to have reasonable discourses

when sycophants and hypocrites

rule the day

yes, yes, and yes.

the p-fray need not look like the dayroom during a prison riot to be regarded, active.

at the risk of sounding me-too, i enjoyed this last week's discussions. i may not have much to add, but that doesn't stop me from reading (when i don't have to sift through the spam, etc).
