I don't need too, since you're talking about insurance in the case of medicare and an entirely different system in terms of the VA, although the VA is indeed government run healthcare and I know of no one, and I know people in the VA system, who likes it.

A BCBS family plan costs $12,000-$13,000/year. That means it will cost $24,000-$26,000/yr for a family plan and that does not include co-pays for office visits or prescriptions.

I believe the average income in the US around $46,000.

Both cover health care, one for seniors one for the military. Both government run both do exceptionally well. Why? Because IMHO they cut out the middle man, the pimp....the health care insurance companies.
