It barely felt like a recession in the UK. Sure, there was the mass panic attacks in the summers of 2007 and 2008. But both were addressed quickly by the government and now the economy is back booming again.

Though nothing changed in the UK during this time: the stores were still full, the restaurants and bars buzzed. And everyone still had money in their pockets and jobs. Apart from the young, unemployment is not a big problem in the UK. And how did Britain do it? Be eschewing socialism and instead gearing its market economy, raising its currency, and inflating its housing market. In short, a neo-con, free market recovery. Some lessons for Obama there...
