Wow.

Brass knuckles, a six-shooter, and a stabber.

We do like us some creative destruction don't we?

Fritz, the craftsmanship was exquisite, but I couldn't figure out where the bullets came out.

Who beat-up the screw on that breach cover? Couldn't they find a goddamned screwdriver, just had to use a chisel?

There is no barrel, none to speak of, only a hole in the frame that holds the revolving cylinder.

Thanks, another liberal, but does that mean the bullet wasn't very accurate because it didn't have a barrel to straighten out the bullet's path?

How the shooter make a bullet fire out of a cylinder chamber?

The Apache was designed

for close-in work, like gang-fighting and mugging. It wasn't intended to be used at any distance, but to get stuck in somebody's ribs. The trigger forms the rear portion of the brass knuckle through which the index finger goes.

The weapon was a favorite of the French criminal class. It features in a lot of cheap detective fiction of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

It makes more sense than trying to carry a 45 in your boot for self protection and will not bulge like a 45 under your arm or the small of your back.

My only concern would be accidentally discharging the shell when a few solid right hands are all thats needed to dissuade a threat.

Well, it was single-action.
by Fritz Gerlich
But the possibility of accidental discharge, in just the circumstance you indicate, was feared, so the approved practice was to rest the hammer on an unloaded chamber. Eddie Eagle was around even then, it seems.

"Tao" and "Do" both mean "the way"

Too much aggression in a piece of metal. Better to be silent.

I love Keats (my favorite poet) and guns. But, you know, the point of “Ode On a Grecian Urn” was that inanimate objects speak to issues beyond their understanding.

"Beauty is truth, truth beauty, that is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know"

Really? I’ve never seen anyone see more shades of gray than you.

You know better. It works for the stagnant and therefore dead and fixed. You are none of the above.

Don’t misunderstand… it’s a beautiful piece. Would that that would suffice. It speaks with the same authority as the Urn. None. And you (of all posters here) no better.

But I'd still put it with my Ferguson rifle and the double barreled flint lock. (The Ferguson is the better bet).
