How did people get so self absorbed and fucking selfish?

When I say people are self absorbed and selfish, I of course mean those other drivers, not you, as you drive with your cell phone all the time, and YOU DO GREAT!!
I'm not going to get into some nitpicky fight with the cell phone defenders who will, as proven by other posts, say things like "hey look everybody does it,and only .023 cause accidents, so it's safe. researchers are nazis."
I think people just need to realize THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU. in the words of walter sobchek, "THE WORLD DOES NOT STOP AND START AT YOUR CONVENIENCE, YOU MISERABLE PIECE OF SHIT."
I mean, I'm sure of the 10million phone conversations while driving a day, 9,999,999 are absolutely vital conversations that CANNOT happen anytime else, but that other 1? maybe hang up.
in other words you can understand, while these phone conversations/tweets/texts are so vital to you, in the grand scheme of things their fucking not.
Like someone else said, we're becoming a nation of 13 year old girls. even 40 year old macho redneck men now sit in their dodge ram talking on their cell phones, and all I can imagine is the old images of the girl on her bed twisting the phone cord around while talking about their dates friday night. I hate to break this to you, but NOTHING you have to say is that important that it can't wait til you stop. I know some of you might say "But I'm the head of IT at/I'm a pharmacist/I'm a.... IT CAN FUCKING WAIT." the world has been going just fine for 4.5 billion years (or is it six thousand, not sure), and it will go just fine, if you wait 20 minutes til you get there. You need to get ahold of the other person and find out where you're meeting? do it as you're getting in the car and starting it.
Billions of Billions of dollars a year in accelerating profits for the phone companies, all because we're too selfish and childish to think "You know, I probably don't need to tweet and drive/call and drive/etc."
And the idiots with your "Do you really want BIG government/Big brother telling you when to use your phone?" do you keep a bottle of scotch in your car for long drives too? Those pussies at MADD Be DAMNED!
