There is no God in their teachings

Constantly wondering how they get away with being called a religion, and get tax fee status. Why not call hypnotism a religion, or psychologists priests, and give them tax free status. Nothing about them has to do with God, and nothing about them is generous or giving. You're not going to find a Mother Teresa, or a Saint Francis coming out of this so called religion. Just some very neurotic movie stars, and some really crazy books and films.

A god is not required to make a group a religious tax free organization.

Scientology, essentially, sued the IRS into granting them tax exempt status, after the IRS had already revoked their tax exempt status.

If religions had to produce a god to get a tax deduction, none would be tax free. That sounds like a great requirement to me.
To be fair . . .

. . . there isn't necessarily a god in Buddhism; that's never threatened its status as a religion.
