Palin resigns on wrong day
by tmayn

It really doesn't matter what day, holiday or non holiday, weekday or weekend, summer or winter, etc.... Sarah Palin would resign from the office of governor of Alaska. The main stream media will find something, anything, everything wrong with it. I'm so glad I know better than to listen and believe anything the media tells Americans. Even if I weren't a Palin fan I would be impressed with the fact that she hasn't let the media destroy her....because the media has made it their mission to do just that!

The media is the nation's watchdog precisely to prevent dubiosuly qualified, marginally intelligent people from aspiring to the highest office in the land without first being exposed, warts and all.

The strongest candidates on both sides of the aisle realize that this comes with the territory and toughen up. Even W had the cajones not to quit (although history would've smiled kindly on an exception to the rule).

The weak ones blame "the media" (and others*) and quit on the very people who elected and supported them. And she hasn't endured even half of the s**t that has been hurled at Hillary on a daily basis for the past 17+ years. Clinton endures; Palin whines and quits.

Honesty, GOP'ers: is she the best person you can find these days? You're either not looking hard enough or you really hate Mormans.

* "Others" include the GOP-majority Alaskan legislature who have supported the majority of these ethics investigations.

What on God's green earth are you talking about? She said she was quitting because the atmosphere had become "too partisan" - so what did she expect had she been elected VP, or Prez someday? What would you have thought if Bush resigned in 2006, with no real reason except, "I don't want to be a lame duck and just kill time". Amazingly, she insulted every other governor that finishes out their terms and saying they always ignore their responsibilities. Well, you know what the alternative is?

-Finish your term and get shit done-, that's what.

She was elected by Alaskans to be their governor until the end of 2010. It was a job she agreed to take on, even swore an oath. Yesterday all she did was break her promise. That anyone could watch that long, rambling train-wreck of a concession speech (saying only a quitter would stay in office) and see any kind of a rational, stable, intelligent person speaking from the heart... it boggles the mind. And since this is a democracy, it also kinda scares the shit out of me.
