Soulmates Fallout
by marylb

<link>

The resignation call has grown louder thanks to his idiotic comments about his soulmate and his obviously oblivious attitude for what is acceptable. I heard a theory on the news that he may just want to be in Argentina and it almost rings true in that his rambling speech was just weird for a man wishing to fix his personal life. Now before anyone starts crying about how unimportant all of this is just remember this is a man that many thought could be a candidate for President one day and who is currently the Governor of South Carolina.

This is 100% political if you fast forward to what the raised and angry voices are demanding. S. Carolina may end up with a default governor who is as unattractive to many of them as the current governor leaving the bad taste.

So does it matter? You betcha.

I bookmarked it. I am not into facebook but probably should be since everyone I know is.

Keep my email in the mean time: norcal55@hotmail.com

Great facebook site Adav so I'll check it out more later on. Thanks. My hope is that you got those great travel and New Yorker in London stories on that site but I suspect you don't look back. ;-)

You've made the TP bigtime.

Got pull with Freditor? Maybe he will clean it up for you.
Who cares?

A non-issue to me.

After all, it's not like he's getting blown in the White House, eh?

If the article is right things don't look good for him being there much longer. I suspect he is not the last one we'll hear about but this guy takes it to a whole 'nother level.
No pull. Just doing what this place does best

Update on breaking news. Did you click the link I gave? Look at the time. It is a new CNN headline.

If anyone is counting that is 2 (two) headlines I top posted here today. Much more than usual for me but I can't hold a candle to everyone top posting what? 5, 6, 7, 8 or more posts?

The Republican Party needs a process whereby it can expel

scum like Vitter and Sanford. They might keep office, but not party affiliation. A man that screws another woman within the bonds of marriage but not in the presence of and/or with the active participation of his wife, just ain't a real man.
Where I do think it matters
by marylb

is this: I believe he was a possible contender for the White House. His sudden and complete exit from that arena is meaningful. Right now he looks like he may be losing the governorship as well. I have an idea about who is next in line and I am invested in it somewhat. I think the road just got a whole heck of a lot easier for another guy who only had minor obstacles in his way to begin with. Right now I suspect he is celebrating an end to Sanford's run.

With that said:

I think SB gave the best reason why this new twist may be very important...how SC views the one who may take over Sanfords seat.

Three ways aside, from this article and some discussions I have read the jury is out on whether he holds onto the office. That seems to be the most important part to all this in that the runner up is not so much loved in SC. Sanford does almost seem to be trying to be kicked out. Could he have said anything dumber in a state that may not necessarily appreciate his thought process? I think he is in trouble. Big trouble but we'll see in the next few weeks.

Impeach Sanford
by greenridgeman

Impeach the next one if need be.

SC legislature have any balls? It was a clear violation of his duties to leave SC high and dry. Plus, the guy is clearly mental.
