Chuck Colson
by Shrommer

Amazing how Chuck Colson's name got into this article. Apparently, Colson is a bad guy in this piece because Nixon spoke some awful words to Colson.

As far as Chuck Colson's testimony goes, most people would say that he was not a Christian at all until after the Watergate scandal and that he came to Christ in prison. His autobiography is well worth reading, for how he repented of his Nixon-like attitudes and embraced Christ instead.

Somehow a guy that claimed he would "push his grandmother down a flight of stairs" to get Nixon elected doesn't sound very Christ like to me. Colson's prison conversion was probably influenced by his realization job opportunities for excons were somewhat limited except in the highly profitable world of religion.

I have to agree. Seems like a natural progression - from politics to religion.

Exactly. It's comments like the one about pushing his grandmother that prove that Colson needed a savior and had sins which needed forgiving. "The healthy do not need a physician; the sick do." The righteous do not need a savior; the sinners do.

You may speculate on whether Colson needed Jesus to get a job; but it's still worth your while, if you're interested in this subject, to read Colson's own story in his own words.
