What about the overhead?

I like the offset camera because of the depth perception and seeing the pitcher and batter side by side. Close calls on the corners of the plate can be replayed by the camera in most parks these days directly above the plate.

The overhead will give you the two dimensional as to whether the ball was over the plate, but will not give you the true strike zone...

but that's exactly what the article says the straight on camera does.

"Although it gives a much better sense of where a pitch lands horizontally, it makes it harder to judge height—a pitch that appears to be belt high might actually be above the letters"
