Beautifully written and executed lyrics. A brilliant talent.
A warm soul, but sadly, I believe a ,mixed up sick sodomizer of little boys, as well.
Tragic tale all around ,really.
I don't classify him in the vein or category of a child abuser who takes a life, or tortures in a extremely sadistic manner..but, there is no real way, ever, no , never..to excuse his activities with children as they do appear by evidence and claims and payments made were exploitative and sexually that of the pedophile.
Not, excusable at all.
But, his music and lyrics and talent was undeniable.
I met him once, in 1989, in Las Vegas ..a busboy tipped me off that he had just come through Ceasar's Palace Main Lobby and game floor and headed up with his entourage to The Onimax Theatre which used to be a small internal theatre inside Ceasar's Palace. (they have since taken this theatre out and extended their property with other shops and game rooms and show rooms..but back then I took the tip from the employee and wandered up into the Onimax and found MJ sitting in this very small but, empty, modern ,tiny theatre inside Ceasars'(the word from the employee was he here to scope out property and design for the new ranch he building nearby, that later became Neverland.. ...
When I found him in there, I called up and tip my hand in a wave to him,"Michael!" he looked back at me and saluted back to me and smiled broadly with out a sign of guile or oddness, at all.
He appeared completely without guile and very open and friendly. He also wasn't white. he was tan in skin color. very attractive and pleasant looking.
It was surprising. I saw the death photo of him being taken into the ER yesterday as well ..he was tan colored in that pic, as well. He may well have had vitiligo but I believe the white face was make-up.
It's sad he had so much self hate that he abused himself as he did with Plastic Surgery and drugs as well as the isolative life he lead and the probable way he exploited certain select boys that he took a fancy to.
No excuse for that.
Yet, for his massive talent,... a tribute to one of his most compelling and beautiful songs:
<link>A perfect song to give pause to note his talent and his lyrics show the reflections of the desire for a good heart beneath the vices and sicknesses that also compelled him.
