Like most things French, Michelin is corrupt
by Wrolph

The problem is that when elites are bestowed with the power of subjective judgment, they'll inevitably exploit it or abuse it or subject it to political struggles or the latest nonsensical fashions of the day.

This is why the most valuable analysis is the most objective, and the most prosperous judiciaries are the ones that can move analysis from the subjective to the objective. This applies to government and law as well as the arts.

If something is truly subjective and speaks more to one's soul than the quantifiable material world, then you should poll a wide spectrum to get a consensus, or perhaps find others more akin to yourself to make prejudgments for you.

If good and bad, right and wrong need to be interpreted to us by elites, abuse and corruption is the unavoidable consequence.
