Steve--right wingers don't need proof, they just rattle off soundbites. That is why so many of them are complaining that Obama is actually nuanced.

Soundbite politics. Does seem quite on the mark for Republicans. Certain buzzwords seem to make the rounds... "flip flop" "appeasement", "socialist". The strategy seems to have been squeezed dry lately; not resonating with the general public.

The way to arbitrary power is through Acorn extortion and uncontrolled online contributions. The voting fraud in 2010 (not to mention 2012) will be so open as to be intentionally blatant, positively inviting protest so as to "justify" repression. Progressives/communists are simply power-hungry chimpanzees with a better command of language.
