Who are you?

I know who I am.

(Paul Thomas Anderson is a genius.

He teaches us, like Aimee Mann has, that beauty is, very often, an ugly matter of circumstances. And that ugliness is, more often than not, simply fear. Go figure.)

Have a nice day.

Loved TC in Tropic Thunder - an otherwise miserable and offensive piece of shit.
Really?

Haven't seen it yet. So thanks for reminding me to put it in my Netflix queue. Edelstein said Downey's performance was Oscar-worthy. And I'm a huge Stiller fan, so I'll probably like it.

I'm living my life in 30 minute chunks. Just trying to get from the bottom of the hour to the top and back again. Show up for work. Go home. Fix dinner. Watch TV. (I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is easily the worst reality show ever, bar none.)

Still, I disagree. It's every reason to drink. End of story. (Sort of.)
I guess that makes

sense. People don't want to live next to a garbage dump due ONLY to the fear of rats and the stench of rotting garbage. Wow! The man IS a genius!

Tropic Thunder are worth the price of admission alone. Overall, pretty funny.

I'm glad Lou is no longer camp leader. What a tendentious, stuffed shirt he is! In fairness to him, though, few of us he-men would rebound well from losing one's attractive, hitherto hetero wife to to a lesbian.....

Oh, sure.

Me: this movie is a guaranteed stinker.

Everybody: oooh, we'd better go see that.

No respect, I tell ya.

If you're watching I'm a Celebrity, then that's 30 minute (blow) chunks. Is there a more repulsive couple on earth than Speidi Pratt? Other than Tempo and JackDallas, I mean?

Everything in moderation - including moderation.

Yes. He is a genius. And so is Aimee Mann. This is one profound film - and so is the soundtrack.

Beautiful post. Thanks.

I didn't get the frog thing

Can you explain it to me?

You know the plague of frogs in Egypt, right? Well, this plague is an ironic plague of frogs that saves people. Jeez, now I need to watch that movie again.
I was driving down to the U.S. Consulate
by Dawn Coyote..

this afternoon to pick up my visa so that I can move to Utah this weekend and marry TK before his mom dies of cancer (which looks to be soon), and I was listening to Nick Drake, and thinking of you.

I forgot the damn consulate office was closed today.

*sigh*

I plan to write about this process at some point. It's been stressful.

That sucks
by biteoftheweek

about the consulate and TK's mom (all my love to you, TK)

You are coming this weekend? You picked the weekend that I am leaving for Canada. Perhaps Utah couldn't deal with the both of us.

Re: I didn't get the frog thing

I was pretty sure it was a reference to the plagues in Egypt and the suffering that befalls all of us, and it seemed to go with a kind of theme that events, situations and suffering all have meaning because of how we look at them ... or that each of us is chosen, the chosen person in our life...

Mostly I thought the frogs were just so fucking big and they hit the cars and the street with such force and such thuds that I was wowwed by the experience that someone would think that up ...

It takes me a long time to tease out meaning in something like "Magnolia" -- memorizing the soundtrack helped ... a lot.

I am in Utah now. Salt Lake City. Leaving tomorrow. We're staying at the Grand American. Very fancy.

Have fun in Canada.

That's some stuff to be sad about ... and I'm sorry for the stress for all of you.

It's amazing how often the sweet is intertwined with the sad. Best to you both.

And the ad for Booty Sweat energy drink, which is funny, offensive, and furthers character development.
