Geek Factor

I am deeply disappointed that "TLOTL" went for stupid. The original show featured writing by some of science fiction's biggest names. It posed interesting questions to its nine year old audience. Time paradoxes, alien cultures, cosmic puzzles. I read in an interview that the "Will" actor tried to botch every shot with at least three vulgar ad libs that couldn't be used in the final film. sHoping for a real reboot of this extraordinarily fun and intelligent property to come out of this "Yet another Will Farrel acting like a complete moro fiasco".

As much as I enjoyed it, the new Star Trek movie does a much milder version of the same thing; in terms of analogy, it's as if Trek kicks the intelligence of its source (at its best) in the shin where LotL skins the intelligence of its source alive.

Agreed! But Trek finishes with the ability to do Trek stories in the future. LOTL Botched the property. Abrams has said that he might do social and philosophical issues going forward. Farrell has never been in anyhing he hasn't left a burning shambles behind him. That's OK for Ron Burgundy and Talladega Nights. But Its a shame to destroy something that could have been a cute kid's show.
