Sports question
by yastfort

Does Detroit's Red Wing's winning Stanley's cup (sic) negate the Lion's unflushable turd of a season?

Prestige wise how would you rank these:

NFL (Super Bowl)

MLB (World Series)

NBA (?)

NHL (Stanley Cup)

Soccer (?)

No, the Lions have set the limbo bar as low as it can ever go. All the oils of Arabia and Darren Helm cannot sweeten that dumpster.

Super Bowl
World Series
Stanley Cup
NBA Championship.

Soccer.

(unless you mean the World Cup, which is bigger than any strictly North American sports title)

World Championship of Badminton

Probably not what you had in mind, so otherwise: the NFL, like NASCAR, is a made-in-America-for-idiot-Americans joke. It wasn't always like that, but is now. Michael Vick is the positive face of the NFL.

MLB is regionalized, but is reaching out. It mainly sucks, as a sport (like soccer), but it has its moments (lie soccer).

Leaving out soccer for the moment, that leaves the NHL and the NBA. It's a tough call, I'd prefer to watch an NBA game than an NHL game, and their superstars are larger-than-life. Hockey has its problems, but in the NHL you have a pinnacle league for a sport enjoyed around the globe (as long as you go east-west and not north-south).

So the NHL comes second to Soccer's World Cup (which wins, basically by default), followed by the NBA, then MLB, then the NFL.

The Dallas in your nic says it all.

Forgot about that other football.

A non domestically biased rating would go:

Soccer

Baseball

Basketball

Hockey

Football

Prestige aside

Basketball

Basketball

Basketball

Basketball

Basketball

Basketball

Lakers in six

Domestic was what I had in mind

Prestige? The Stanley Cup's older than the rest, plus it has the added advantage of being THE Stanley Cup. There's only one. You only get to keep the Cup for as long as you're the champion, then you pass it on. And after you win it, you can drink champagne out of it!

Is there still a question here?

I take it you're not a Rough Rider fan?.... no the other Rough Riders.

You get to keep The Cup?

There's only one?

Apparently you haven't heard the story about Mike Richter back in '94.

I've heard that the Mona Lisa on display at the Louvre is quite a nice copy as well.

Grey Cup?

Hope that's not the colo(u)r?

If I got to look it up I probably won't watch it.
