Analyze My Dream
by Archaeopteryx
+3 Reply

Last night I dreamed about capercaillies. Capercaillies are the largest members of the grouse family. They’re big and black, and they have a red circumflex over the eye that makes them look angry and fierce. The bill looks like a bottle opener, but despite the threatening look, they’re vegetarians. In my dream, my wife and I flew to Scotland to see these magnificent fowl. I don’t know why I’d pick Scotland, since they’re increasingly rare there, and quite common in other parts of the range—Norway, Sweden and so forth. We rented a car and drove (on the wrong side of the road) to a giant, dense forest, where we walked to a display area and waited for the birds to begin their courting dance. In the dream, two males showed up and began a slow-motion, noisy waltz of a fight which sent dust and leaves flying. After a few minutes, one waddled off, and the other turned to me and said in a Scottish brogue, “Wake up, lad.”

Penis-Envy.

That's a given in all my dreams.

I do have the Irish ancestry. I meant besides that.
I'm a killjoy

I'd guess that you've been thinking about these grouses in recent days. Your brain is either adding those thoughts (of schemas thereof) to long-term memory, or was just random-firing it's neurons (pick one, arguments go both ways). Your experience of this is what you call dreaming.

The Scottish brogue part, though, is clearly an indicator of latent homosexuality.

Morris Fitz-Hugh

and

Hugh Fitz-Morris

Are you sure you've not mistaken...
by TenaciousK

the Scottish for Irish?

[I know, everything is about me - even your dreams. (Waddling off...)]

Still too obscure

Though nicely played.

Try this spelling of the same post:

Morris fits Hugh

and

Hugh fits Morris.

Still obscure?

What would Irish birds be doing in Scotland?

Plus, I absolutely recognize Scottish accents from watching Star Trek and Mike Myers movies.
I read this post and I wish I hadn't.

What your dream means: you need more people time and less bird time.
So what you're saying is...
by Archaeopteryx
...that you can see right through to my man-crush on Sean Connery. Quite perceptive.
I would have gone just the other way.
by Archaeopteryx
More bird time and less people time. Birds have a hard, keratinized bill and no lips, which means that they are morphologically unable to suck, while, as I'm sure you're aware, people definitely suck.
Hmm.

The rest of us would have dreamt of chickens in the vacant lot behind McDonald's.

Do you eat Mexican food?

Weird - I had the same dream

Except in my dream, I was southbound on I-59 there was a big truck in front of me and I passed him, and then he passed me and slowed down, so I passed him and then he passed me and slowed down, so I passed him and then he passed me and slowed down, so I passed him and then he passed me and slowed down, so I passed him and then he passed me and slowed down, so I passed him and then he passed me and slowed down, so I passed him and then he passed me and slowed down, so I passed him and then he passed me and slowed down, so I passed him and then he passed me and slowed down, so I passed him and then he passed me and slowed down, so I passed him and then he passed me and slowed down, so I passed him and then he passed me.

Then I woke up.

Remarkable similarities. Did you also eat frito-chili-pie last night? That could be the common factor.
