cristian children fund is a scam
by wenesdae
if it werent they wouldnt be using the same kid for the past 40 years in the commercial if they really want to do any good they need to fund abortion and birth control so thered be no need for and childrens fund the problem is the parents who breed human garbage

calling poor children human garbage is disgusting. true, these funds should be providing birth control and family planning to these families. but those kids weren't asking to be born into poverty, calling them garbage just inexcusable.

that being said CCF has got to be a scam. i would severly doubt if more than a few cents per dollar donated actually gets to the children.

How dare you call CCF a "scam." Any facts to back that up? Of course not.

You "doubt" that more than a few cents out of every dollar goes to the kids? Then you're simply misinformed: the truth is, according to Charitywatch, Charity Navigator and just about every reputable charity rater out there, CCF is one of the more efficiently run charities, and the vast majority of the money goes to help children. See: <link>

Calling CCF a scam is simply defamation.

Also, get the name right--CCF is now "Chuild Fund"

Well, we can agree on one thing: it truly would be a better world if some people had never been born.

I heard that the Christian Children's Fund is having to change its misleading name, because so few of the children in question are in Christian countries. This might answer my long-time question: does the title mean "Fund for Christian Children" or "Christian Fund for Children."

I might add that I heard this on Fox News, which tends to idealize faith-based charities, so I believe it is likely to be true.

Wenesdae, you're a disgusting fuckhead. Christian relief organizations for Third World children, who are not human garbage, just desperately poor, are some of the most effective and committed in the world. So fuck off.

Secondly, it's nice to know that you think abortion is just a terrific solution. Fuck you.

What kind of idiot would assume that "Christian Chidrens Fund" indicates that the children themselves are Christians, as if the organization only helps Christian children, especially when so many of them live in parts of the world where people do not practice Christianity? Clearly it refers to those who run the organization.

Of course, it doesn't matter. Because they are Christian, tolerant, progressive people must shit on them. Let all the Third World children die if the only alternative is to be helped by Christians acting independently of world government organizations.

EB, I believe the point was that the name was misleading, encouraging some people to believe that Christian children were the ones to benefit, or there would be no reason to change it. And, no, obviously you don't have to be an idiot to make that mistake. The name always seemed very ambivalent to me. And, yes, many perfectly decent Christian...or Muslim...or Jewish...or Hindu...or Buddhist... people might prefer to give a higher priority to helping children of their own faith.

Oh, and "doe-eyed Maria," like most of the children they show, is apparently from a Christian, Latin American country.

They are changing their name. It was announced a month or two back. Don't know what the reasoning was, but the new name is ChildFund International. Interestingly enough, when they were first founded it was called China Children's Fund but they changed that when they started helping kids in other countries.

Speaking of "human garbage," you should look into a mirror.

Wenesdae - I believe you are misinformed about Christian Children's Fund, now ChildFund Alert. I have sponsored 2 children from different African countries since 2000. I receive regular school updates, pictures, letters, cards and gifts from both children. When I send a gift in addition to my monthly sponsorship, I receive a letter from my sponsored child or their relative, describing the pleasure at the gift and what it was used for (when it's money).

ChildFund Alert also provides an annual Statement accounting the funds received and how they were disbursed. Please research your facts before bad-mouthing an organization that is legitimate and a great help to those in need.

You're all wasting your money and time arguing. People in other countries are just having as many kids irresponsibly as they want and depend on politically correct DUMBASSES from the United States of *ahem* America to help raise them financially .Stop sending them money and they will learn to deal with their own problems. We have starving kids here too ya know .........DUHH.

P.S. If I have lots of kids too , enough for a baseball team. Can I ask you for money to feed them and maybe send them to college for me?I only live in arizona which might be cheaper on postage for you.

Judgemental coldhearted Jonsagisi

Jonsagisi,

1) People in AMERICA are also having kids irresponsibly... DUMBASS

2) Child Fund also helps children in AMERICA...DUMBASS

3) ChildFund is a semi fundamentalist Christian organization, not a group of "politically correct dumbasses" from the USA...DUMBASS

4) The adult people of the poor nations do need to deal with their own problems agreed, but the children are nothing more than the innocent victims, and to call someone who simply wants to help a 'dumbass' is ignorant, simple, and makes you sound like a...DUMBASS

5) Yea, Arizona USA. Poor baby! You are one of the lucky few in this world who was born in one of the greatest nations in history. Yet here you are throwing stones and judging people for helping children who are literally STARVING TO DEATH! And this goes on as people in better off nations stuff themselves daily to the point where it's a disease. Even many of our children our overfed to the point that we have a national epidemic of child obesity and the related diseases that come with that, taxing our economies, destroying lives. If you don't want to help, then why don't you just close your mouth, and thank God (or your lucky stars) that you are able to have a large family, find work, or create wealth enough to feed and take care of your family...DUMBASS

6) ChildFund doesn't 'send them money' They use donations to finance the organization that works to feed, clothe, and educate these children...DUMBASS

7) If some horrible situation arouse, be it natural or economic disaster, if you became deathly ill, if there was foul play against you and your own, victim of a crime, government oppression, death, ANYTHING, understand that both, Fundamentalist religious groups, all the way to politically correct atheists, to modern centrists, (myself included) would by all means, send money to these organizations that would feed, clothe, and educate YOUR CHILDREN... DUMBASS

It makes me sad and angry when I see posts like yours They're always the same, in that some judge-mental know it all, has it all figured out and everyone else 'just doesn't get it'. I myself am not huge fan of ChildFund. I don't care if they don't 'promote' abortion, but I think they really should be promoting contraception. Not just for birth control, but to stop the spread of AIDS. However, they just can't get passed their religion, so they will always be fighting an uphill battle.

Still, it's quite obvious, that there are people in these organizations who are very good people. And if things were bad for my family, I would thank god for people like them. They understand that they have so much, and can see how giving improves themselves and the whole world around them. Just knowing that there are children, millions of them, around the world, and yes, even in America, who are underprivileged, neglected, uneducated, malnourished, abused, and even starving, should be enough to evoke some kind of empathy.

But I guess you need to work at that. Do some research, or better yet, go and volunteer, even for just one day, at any ANY of these organizations, and see what it does to you. When you help someone who really needs it, it wil affect you for the better. Your attitude will change, maybe not much, but I guarantee you that you won't be so judge mental of the people who work for and contribute to these charities. And maybe next time you'll think more before you decide to post something that might make you sound like a...(you know)
