Buying in to the Obama-image
by emasmum
I think the author is drinking the Kool-aid being handed out by "The Party".

Here's some Kool Aid for you:

1) Saddam had WMD's

2) Saddam had hooked up with al-Qaeda

3) John Kerry did not earn his Vietnam medals and was in fact a liar and a disgrace to the uniform

4) "Mission accomplished"

5) "Heck of a job, Brownie"

6) Tax cuts are a great way to increase revenue for the nation as a whole, especially if you give them to the super-rich people (who can move their money offshore, lead lives of excess, and/or otherwise not actually invest it in the nation's economy, but that would never happen)

I'm sure all the six flavors tasted real yummy...

There's no more point in "kool-aid" or even kool-aid talk. You're behing the bus, not on it.

He IS the president. He IS running our country.. NOW. There is no time for any other option. It's just not up for debate.

And what have I seen in 4 months..

He gets things DONE. Quickly.

He DOES try to find a middle ground, not hard right, nor hard left. You can tell because BOTH the hard right AND the hard left are dissappointed or upset.

He acts, and speaks like an adult who is speaking to other adults. Novel to say the least.

He has a longer term vision than most politicians. Obama will rise or fall depending on how his recovery plans for the country work out. But many of the things he has set in motion won't even be fully realized until after he's out of office.. some of them even if he wins a second term.

But they are nonetheless the exact sort of long term plans this country needs. You may not agree with his specific plan, but surely anyone who would like the country to survive for the next 100 years sees that all plans can't be made and executed in only 4 year incrememnts.

He understands that it's not going to work for business to try and thrive at the expense of the consumer. Eventually the consumer is paid such low wages, or is so underemployed, that they cannot afford the product the company makes. That's lose-lose for everyone.. business and consumer, and eventually even investors. GM and Michigan is a classic example.

For good or ill... Obama understands the actual dollars and cents issues with entitlement programs like medicare and social security. And that the money issues won't go away no matter how much we all want them to. I hope he gets a chance to do something about it.
