Article is lazy: fails to mention priest shortage.
by Madai

It's ridiculous to argue for or against celebacy without ONCE mentioning the fact that there is a severe priest shortage, and, few signs that said shortage will ease in years to come.

There was a priest shortage already in 2000, and the numbers have grown by lust a litte over 0.1% percent per year. The number of catholics, not to mention potential catholics, is keeping pace with world population growth: over 1%. So, the number of parishoners is growing about 10X faster than the number of priests.

This is going to put pressure on the catholic church to do SOMETHING. Not sure what, but certainly, something. The current situation is unsustainable, certainly.

'There was a priest shortage already in 2000, and the numbers have grown by lust a litte over 0.1% percent per year.'

That qualifies as a Freudian slip and slide.
