Poll for Libs: Is Obama beginning to make you nervous?
by Nick_Danger

The transparency he promised in his campaign was apparently nothing more than that - a campaign promise.

Sweeping criminal behavior like torture under the rug is just more of the same old same old.

And why is he allowing Dan Choi to be thrown out of the military? He swore he was against the don't ask don't tell policy.

<link>

Obama is not a "messiah". Yes, he's better than George Bush - who isn't? - but I think it's time for the Americans who voted for him to make clear that they expect him to keep his promises.

Bush lowered the bar far enough. Time to start raising it.

I'm still laughing about Hillary's phone message to Hsu and Nancy Pelosi being hoisted by her own petard...

You realize, with Nancy it's not so much about the subject matter to me, it's about her lying and being caught red-handed doing it (makes it funny as hell!)

;o)

to be quite frank with you nick, mine started with the appointment of Rahm Emanuel.
vote for Palin then!
by jazzguitarman

Ok, bogg and write letters, and have a tea party and make clear you expect him to keep his promises. Than what? What will you do if he continues to govern from the center?

Will you vote for someone from the GOP in 2010? Will you support Palin or Newt in 2012? Will you just sit out the election and thus maybe allow a repeat of 2000?

Just admit it. Like a very beautiful girl, Obama has you and while you might wish to get out, well you just can't. This is what happens to those that believe political promisses to begin with.

in 2 years when the DOW remains steagnant, and jobs remain lost!

Businesses reluctant to higher, and areas remain dessolate,,,,your guy will be ushered out as an incompetent spend thrift!

While inflation soars, and interest rates are skyhigh (just like in the Carter era) you won't have a leg to stand on!

I'll wait! (AND YOU'LL SEE)

Socialism just doen't work!

And Americans will be begging to bring CAPITALISM BACK! (and get Government out).

Have a nice weekend!

...things are such a disaster that no one person could have done any better up to now.

...there is little doubt things look different from the inside than when looking from outside. More than likely this has changed some plans.

...no if you ask me does our current political bickering in Washington make me nervous, yes, it does. Head-hunting and finger-pointing all take away time from solving problems. I would personally like to see the entire legislature voted out of office during the next several election-cycles or whatever amount of time it would take for all current incumbents terms to expire.

The Dow is not stagnent, it has risen 30 percent since March.

His economic policies only worry me because they have not gone far enough, not becuase they have gone too far.

And Socialism does work. Nearly all those places in Barb's posted which Forbes Magazine lists as the best places on earth to live are socialistc in comparison to America.

the thing is, we tried it your way and that's why we

aspects, Nick

I want to know why people thought Obama was going to fix all of the crap Bush & Co left in the first 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months, or whatever random target date people set in their head. Truthfully I am sort of getting tired of people expecting all of their pet issues to be fixed/resolved already to be a bit tiresome. It took Bush 8 years to do what he did to the country, fixing all the isues is going to take longer than the 4 months Obama has been in office.
Obama was left in the position regarding many issues, of making the least crappy decision – or at least the decision that may lead to the least crappy outcome. Bush left a freaking mess with no easy answers! The fact that whatever decision Obama makes on detainees, DODT, DOMA, detainee photos, your pet issue, etc. doesn’t mean he turned his back on his supporters, or whatever you want to call it. Sure he could have snapped his fingers metaphorically speaking and changed things but was anyone who was paying attention think that he is that quick to make major decisions.

I'm of the same mind Figjam. Obama is coping with issues not of his making that were brought about by a greedy and unintelligent adminstration. Were matters handled differently from the beginning, i.e. comptently and with some thought towards the future, they would not be so complicated to resolve.

For example, Bush held people for years on little or no evidence, torturing some, maltreating others, all of which increases the liklihood they will seek revenge if ever released. Were they dealt with more quickly and competently, the situation might be vastly different.

Keeping realities such at those in mind, I am not nervous but will wait as Obama and his administration sort through the minefield Bush and Cheney left behind.

It's the issues that he has upheld for his supporters that has caused the problems that exist...

His Union supporters got the real ball of wax... eh?

And in your single pea in a pod, that musta been a Bush freakin pot of poooooooorridge... huh?

It is funny to see how you fathom the sea... OK?
