i am guessing that the new Double X site is brought to us by the same folks who do the Fray, as:

1) I can't sign up using my info, tried several times, had problems with the date thingy, then finally got that to work, and then it seems i cant use my username from Slate or my email account (maybe my account from Slate was ported over, so my username and email are 'already taken'? well, see problem #2!)

2) to see if i was already signed up, tried 'forgot password' and typed in my email address; this crashed like 5X in a row~

Yes, agreed. Maybe the failure of the log-in function isn't really an accident? Just for the writers to post a lot of idiocy without hearing from their readers?

personally, i really doubt that, but then i am not really conspiracy minded, so maybe i am jsut being naive! based on the inability to keep the XX Fray going on frequent occasions, i'd more guess poor planning than deliberate screening...

There's no reason for the poorly designed message boards we have to use, here. So many other sites have a much more reasonable interface. Let's face it, people post here despite the format and not because of it.

I want an 'ignore' feature that many other sites have. When you see posts by the same troll over and over, you just click 'ignore this poster' and Bingo! It's like reading a troll-free site.
