I couldn't have opposed Bush more without breaking the law (or at least seriously increasing my risk of being audited.) I donated to all the correct organizations, I voted for Gore, Kerry and Obama, I exhorted my nutty right-wing family to see reason for 8 long years (many of them are still hopeless ditto-heads), and stayed informed so as to be a force for reason in any water-cooler or other conversation that presented itself.

The sad truth is that Cheney/Bush/Rumsfeld/Falwell etc. hijacked the country and I will not take one iota of responsibility for the idiocy that ensued.

I know right! Talking to your family members and voting for the other guy should be all anyone need ever do to stop the torture of dissidents. If only everyone in Sudan was as brave as you, the genocide in Darfur could have been averted.
