We could name stuff, Sarge....but it wouldn't matter.

Dubya was HELPLESS. So was Hastert, so was Bill Frist. Barney Frank was using his Magical Minority Power to control Congress the WHOLE time, Bush was in office.

He could have admitted, a week or two into his administration, that the presidency was way over his head and just resigned. That might have helped.

In other words, you have no solutions, only finger pointing......

See my response to Reptillicus.
Another dumb "Sarge" question
by Bo-4
Not got us into a trillion dollar clusterfuck based on lies would have been good for starters. Absent that, had he resigned or a bunch of idiots had not re-$elected him in '04 we might have avoided the worst of it.

What does Iraq have to do with the banking and housing crisis that started all this?

A very obvious choice Bo and one Republicans are loathe to admit. We would not be in nearly as bad a condition had Bush not cut taxes then entered a war of choice based on lies and cut taxes even further.

LOL!

1. Ensure Regulations of financial institutions rather than always crying "Less Govt Intervention"?

2. Spread the wealth around instead of "No Bid Contracts"?

3. Cutting taxes when we had a surplus and was actually paying off national debt for the first time ever?

4. Get the hell out of Iraq instead of borrowing 10 BILLION every month from the Chinese to continue it.

5. Stop giving federal money to corporations like EXXON?

6. Lock up and make examples of corporate thieves like Ken Lay?

Just starters!

What does that have to do with the banking and housing crisis that started all this?
It's related dummy
by Bo-4
Trust me, it's all related.

1. Bush called for mortgage standards to be revised and tightened in 2006. Democrats on the Senate commitee voted down the line against it.

2-6. What do these have to do with the housing and banking crisis that started all this?

Lots of good suggestions from the Left here, Sarge....

"BUSH SUCKS" is a wonderful statement of policy and ideology. Of course, only the "Intelligent" people can understand such a complex statement and how it applies to all that is bad in this world.

For MY PART, I say he could have reigned in the GOP Congress (and his own Administration), as they set out to outspend Democrats. And, he could also have put more teeth into his regulatory groups watching the Banks and Wallstreet. Of course, we have all kinds of "politics" involved in that, and Congressmen from BOTH sides of the aisle were devoted to protecting their own pig troughs.

It would also have been nice if he actully understood what was going on with the economy, and had the ability to "inform the People" about potential problems and solutions......

Why do we bother?
by Bo-4
With "Sarge" that is.. catch a clue idiot: it was Bush deregulation and deficit spending that drove the financial crisis.

No worries.. adults are in charge now. They'll change your diaper. ;)

"Bush deregulation and deficit spending drove the financial crisis"

Can you prove that assertion?
