Why does Jesus taste so dry and stale?
by Anse

It's hard to swallow Him down without choking. There's too much prayin' before you get a sip of His blood to wash it down.

It's like we have to suffer as He did.

Do you teach your students your religious views as well as your views on sexual morality?

I sure would like to be in an ambulance going 70mph, siren screaming, with you being given CPR by a paramedic trying to keep your sorry ass alive.....I'd like to ask ya how Jesus looked to ya then.

in a good modern translation like "God's Word" translation. You'll find he, himself, is not dry nor stale at all. Sorry about all the dry, stale people who represent him. It's happened over time - best to return to the source.

Contrary to popular myth, Bush was actually not choking on a pretzel.

So a teacher should only teach a very narrow range of thought...according to you.

We clearly disagree on the role of schools and teachers...as you make the point...epeatedly...that only a very tight playlist of knowledge is available for discussion. I don't see education in your approach but the indoctrination the right tends to rail about.

The goal is to turn on the light...not make students reciting disciples...

Here's a passage...
by Thumper2

which speaks to all the 'religion' and 'holiday' stuff below:

"1Jesus went into a synagogue again. A man who had a paralyzed hand was

there. 2The people were watching Jesus closely. They wanted to see

whether he would heal the man on the day of worship so that they could

accuse him of doing something wrong.

3So he told the man with the paralyzed hand, “Stand in the center bof the

synagoguen .” 4Then he asked them, “Is it right to do good or to do evil on the

day of worship, to give a person back his health or to let him die?”

But they were silent. 5Jesus was angry as he looked around at them. He

was deeply hurt because their minds were closed. Then he told the man,

“Hold out your hand.” The man held it out, and his hand became normal

again.

6The Pharisees left, and with Herod’s followers they immediately plotted

to kill Jesus."

You completely and totally twisted my post. I have never discussed contraceptives with students. My entire post was about the difficulties of setting Sex Ed. curriculum to take values into account. How you came up with this nonsense is astonishing. Your Christianity plainly does not keep you from atrocious dishonesty.

And does your family know you hang out in this amoral cesspool? How would your children feel about it?

How people don't have even the slightest sense of humor about religion is ridiculous.

Thumper, I like ya man but that has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on my question. First of all many of us believe not one word of that document so it cannot even be a part of this discussion. Strip your answer of all scripture and answer it in purely logical or legal terms. It's simple. Religion and Government are not to be twins. Atheists should not have the burden of paying for religious holidays, yes, no?
