non-alarmist advice for parents?
by mochajasmine

Ten years ago (wow) when I shopped at the Hechts junior department and Limited Too, there were scattered age-appropriate clothes amid the creepy innuendo and blinding glitz. The Limited Too website suggests that's still the case, and I think it's a fine store for non-frumpy sixth grade wear if you don't freak out over the skanky options.

Also, I don't know whether it's some sort of cultural taboo nowadays, but there's plenty of colorful cotton, low-rise bikini-style underwear at Victoria's Secret that won't show beneath jeans. Plus, there's, you know, belts available everywhere, including a couple girl-friendly ones on the Limited Too website.

For what it's worth, I am anecdotal evidence that these shopping choices do not lead to tweenhood delinquency, promiscuity, and death.

Your subject "PARENTS" and then your last paragraph sort of covers many things.

As a parent, how you raise your child up, has a direct effect on thier life in later times.

And as you "DON'T" raise them up, this will show at a later date. And you will probably blame it on the child.

Congratulations for not going the wrong direction.
