SERE School
by John Gray

Nice try,but SERE school is not for "servicemembers" it's for officers and no enlisted take part.I want to see the author's DD 214 before I believe this scmuck was in the military.Somehow I doubt I'll see him post a copy anytime soon.

False. My SERE class included a corporal who was a recon Marine.

"it's for officers and no enlisted take part."

Nonsense. US Navy enlisted cryptologic aircrew all went through SERE, and apparently still do. In addition, crypto spec-ops (before the 'tactical support' program) and some specific law enforcement enlisted went through the program. And I'll quote the current NAVPERS manual (volume II) instead of a DD-214:

8295 Cryptologic Technician Operator/Analyst

Performs in-flight functions as a cryptologic operator analyst. Is knowledgeable of airborne data collection systems, emergency and flight

procedures.

Enlisted Aircrew such as loadmasters, aerial gunners, and boom operators also take the course.
Re: SERE School

There is no existing policy or regulation preventing enlisted members from attending SERE. All current Special Forces members are required to attend - and to graduate - from SERE training. How could we achieve this if we couldn't send the enlisted members? An SF team has 10 sergeants (enlisted), 1 warrant officer and 1 commissioned officer. What is the source of your claim?

Nonsense. I went through as an E-2

Check your facts before displaying your ignorance. My husband went through as an enlisted aircrewman.

John Gray..... I am a former Marine who has been through SERE and I must say, the only way you will find out if enlisted combatants go through SERE school is to talk to some people who have... Any navy seal platton, Flight crews,CAG, and ofcourse, my personal favorite.... Force Recon or now know as "MARSOC"... Don't talk unless you have assured your self you are right with evidence of such, written or verbal... This philosophy will save you the reading your wrong paragraphs in the future....

Mike-

PS... I AM Very proud of my past, US Marine, Semper Fidelis....
