Answers From a Guy

LW#1 - While your boyfriend is hanging out with all of his female friends on Valentine's Day, there's a movie you may want to go see. It's called: "He's Just Not That Into You."

LW#2 - I have two possible solutions for you. 1. You could trade boyfriends with LW#1, since dating someone who doesn't care about you seems to be appealing, or 2. Discourage all discussion of emotional intimacy by focusing on the physical aspects of your relationship. (It works for guys all the time. See, e.g., LW#1). Each time your boyfriend starts to whine or look needy, just reach down and unzip his pants. Trust me, this will work eventually, and tell your boyfriend I prefer 20 year-old Scotch for my thank you gift.

LW#3 - No jokes here. Just tell them. You might, however, wait until the last tuition check has cleared.

LW#4 - Let me get this straight. You are about to marry a man you have never spent time with except when he was trying to earn a tip, who has a known history of failed relationships, after eating out alone for the last four years. No, I can't imagine why your family might be concerned! It's a little-known fact that people who can't bring themselves to go to a movie with someone else actually make the best husbands.

#2 is a little harsh. I would feel uncomfortable making declarations of love after 3 months, but I also wouldn't mind if a lady TOLD me this up front instead of avoiding the question.

#4: So true. It's possible to get engaged without dating, but you need to know the other person VERY well. It doesn't sound like you've been putting in the kind of time required to know this guy's ins and outs, whether or not he's officially your boyfriend.
