Yes.

I don't think it takes a certain type of person as much as a certain type of attitude. Internet dating is different - there are so many choices that people get passed over for superficial reasons. If you are going to try it, you have to not take rejection personally. You also have to realize that it is basically no different that bumping into a stranger at the store and then making a coffee date - you really don't know this person from the internet contact so act accordingly.

No I haven't, and no I don't think it takes a certain type. Although maybe shy types are more reticent.

If I were single I'd probably try it out.

I have used them, and I have had varying degrees of success using them. Dated a couple of women where it didn't work out (a basket case and a sleaze bag, respectively), but the woman I am with now (almost a year, now) is fantastic, and we met via Match.com. So I am currently feeling good about internet dating. I did waste a lot of time and money over the years, but mostly due to my own ambivalence about the process. When I have looked seriously, I've been able to find dates that way.

No special "type" does this, though. It's obviously a lot of the guys are sleazier than me, for instance. The types run the gamut, I'd say.

I would, but my husband might object.

Seriously, I think the only "type" required is being tired of looking other places without success, or not having time for more traditional means of finding someone. If I were single, I'd consider it.
