Some see the glass as half empty...

I saw that it's neither half empty or half full, rather it's a matter of what the last state the glass was in. If the glass had been previously half full, then I would say that it's now half emptied and vice versa. It also applies to what the desirable state of the glass is. What is the glass a symbol of? My basement? My basement is half full of water? That's not good. It's all a matter of perspective.
When Obama first started out, he was this radical thing. Not only was he far left (read supposed to be really smart) he was also supposed to be athletic and cool, two things that far lefties almost never are. So it's understandable that people in the press would fawn in the same way that the skinny kid from My Bodyguard hid behind Ricky Linderman. There were friends of mine who openly challenged my sanity for not being bowled over by this, I'm sorry, empty suit. Some even talked about holding an intervention for me.
But he was so vague. He gave these "really great" speeches that made college girls weep, and MSM reporters legs tingle. Most of the questions that were asked of him were really easy, no big deal softball types. Pictures were taken of Obama that seemed to liken him to Superman. Just about the entire media salivated over him, openly. So naturally he won.
And now for each day of the current week, (the second of his admin) there has been a semi audible hiss of hot air leaking out of the Obama balloon. And Slate's been leading the charge. Yes, failure is an option. You know, I never thought of that! Gee, thanks.
Do you mean to say that Obama isn't going to fly around the world really fast and make time go backwards and right the "wrongs" of the Bush era??? Why, he's not even far left anymore, is he? What does that make him? A former jock with a law degree? Great.
I feel like the last person alive in a zombie movie.
