A Man's Tears

Good advice, Loree
by denny

Men in our society are indeed told that crying is a sign of weakness - that a "true man" needs to hide his emotions. But, of course, that's nonsense. A "true man" is willing to demonstrate his compassion and his sorrow without fear.

Masque

A mask of gaiety
with painted on smile.
A false bravado
and flamboyant style.

An actor at life
always playing a part.
A lacquered exterior
entombing the heart.

A heart that cries out
to be loved for itself.
Yet fears to be seen
and is placed on a shelf.

Seeking safety in distance
that none should revive
the pain that accompanies
being alive.

A jester , a clown
making light of it all.
Avoiding the heights
for fear of the fall.

A child's fancy
to come out and play
Yet avoiding the chance
to go all the way

To deal with the World
and all that it holds
to accept the challenge
and let it unfold.

And find in the end
when all has been done
that taking the trip

Is all of the fun.

The biggest of men are those who do not hide emotion, but instead sheare those when they feel them.

A man devoid of emotion, is not complete.

Thank you Cherokee.

I spoke today with Truett...we had a nice chat for a few minutes. They still have a lot of snow on the ground! Thank goodness, we don't. Tomorrow? 60 to 65...I can handle that:-)

Don't Cry LoreeLies

"Roses are red, violets are blue,
sugar is sweet and so are you."

But the roses are wilting,
the violets are dead,
the sugar bowl's empty
and so is your head.

Hard for me to pick a favorite from the 3 that I posted - But the Jackie Wilson was great as well. You already know how I feel about Roy Orbison - one of the greatest.

I'll bet more men

cry in private. they deny an emotion in public, but, in private it's another matter. when men cry, sob, weep, or get teary in public they are usually perceived as weak, mostly by other men. and don't forget the names they are called. usually having do do with female anatomy. ain't it sad?
