DEMOCRATS STUNG BY "RACIST" CRIES

Democrats shift their stance on the disputed appointee after backlash

Washington

Senate Democrats beat a hasty retreat Wednesday from their rejection of Roland Burris....

the senators were irked that the standoff was putting them in a bad light.

=========

The Democrats have been playing the race card for decades now, claiming "racism" constantly.

How can they possibly be surprised that the race card was pulled in the Roland Burris fiasco.

Hoist with their own race baiting petard, Democrats deserve this and many, many more just like it.

Racist Democrats pander to black Americans, pretending to serve them. Meanwhile, Democrats reelect former Ku Klux Klansman, Robert Byrd, to the Senate election after election.

Racist Democrats continue to support abortion, which was first pushed by racist Margaret Sanger, of Planned Parenthood. She wanted black women to kill their unborn babies.

It's working. Black women make up only 6% of Americans but they get 36% of the abortions.

Democrats also deny education vouchers to blacks while Obama sends his kids to exclusive Sidwell Friends School, where Chelsea Clinton went.

Democrats are racists to the core.

And yet, all current KKK members are republicans, strange how that works, eh? Enjoy your status as the "all white" party, also enjoy your few pathetic electoral votes, it is the most you will see for 20 years, The republican party is ready to join the Whigs in the dustbin of history.

Robert Byrd is the Democrat Senator from West Virginia.

He is the sole Klansman in Congress.

Please stop lying. You'd have to abandon the Democrat Party to do that, but.....

You may want to read Gaffer's statement more closely as well as the biography of Robert Byrd.

As long as Republicans continue to provide a comfortable home for overt racists, Democrats have nothing to worry about. In a two party system, we are faced with a choice of the lesser of two evils. As far as racial issues are concerned, Democrats are the lesser evil.

Nice try....

So you are saying that African-Americans aren't as smart as you are and don't recognize racism when they see it? Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms weren't racists? The candidate to head the RNC using the song "Barak the Magic Negro" isn't being a racist.

Byrd was first elected in 1959. He joined the Klan in 1942 and says he quit in 1952. David Duke is still a member of the Klan and still a republican. Byrd said this in 2005...."I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times... and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened". I guess voters in his state have forgiven him. He hardly indicates that the entire democratic party is racist. On the other hand, look into actions by Dick Cheney and Ronald Reagan supporting apartheid in South Africa.

Republicans stung by losing....BIG TIME!
by middleview

You guys lost in 2006 and again in 2008 and so now you are going to try to make hay out of every minor controversy.

Has it hit you yet that security is a big deal for the children of the president? Do you mind if they pick a school that secret service can make safe for their kids? Doesn't bother me at all. You did know that Richard Nixon sent his kids there, didn't you?

Sanger is every bit as relevant as noting that it was republicans who ended up with the dixiecrats after the democratic party embraced equal rites.....look up how you guys ended up with Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms.

Probably because they're far more likely to be poor than their white counterparts, and poor people are far more likely to get abortions.

And comparing the percentage of all Americans who are black women to the percentage of women who get abortions is disingenuous at best and intentionally misleading at worst, as men make up roughly half of the country and cannot get an abortion. Black women still abort at higher rates than white women, true, but not as drastically as you try to depict. Assuming your numbers are even correct, which I sort of doubt given the general tone of your posts.

Hey, middle, you're right. Everyone wants the President, his wife, and his daughters to be safe and happy. He'll do a better job that way.

Just don't tag all conservatives or liberals as racist, please.

I did not tag all conservatives or even all republicans as racists. I am a conservative and am a democrat because the republican party hasn't stood for anything at all for quite a while.

One could easily make the claim that since over half of the abortions performed in this country are on white women, whites are the one who are sucked into abortions, but that would be just as disingenuous as California Dreamin' was.

Here's a fun little tidbit: The abortion rate in this country was steadily declining from 1995-2000, but remained constant since 2000 to 2005 (Last year statistics are available). I'll leave it to the class to discuss what caused the rate to flatline over the past few years.

I think it's a baseless generalization to say that "Democrats are racist to the core." While it was unfortunate to see racism rear its ugly head among Democrats in the primaries, one might ask why Blacks, Latinos, Jews, Native Americans and Americans of so many other ethnicities and races tend vote Democrat as opposed to Republican. According to the PewHispanic Center, 65% of registered Latinos identified with the Democratic Party in 2008 after a pro-GOP trend earlier in the decade. Increasingly, the Republican party is seen as less inclusive and less tolerant of different ethnicities. It was evident that the party was the clear choice of both overt and covert racists such as those who flocked to Sarah Palin's rallies. This is not to imply, conversely, that all Republicans or conservatives are racist.

This issue, by the way, is an item on the agenda of the Republicans' soul-searching conventions to be planned for the future.

Your statements about Margaret Sanger are also baseless. For your information, she promoted birth control for a better quality of life for women and families, not abortion. In fact, she was motivated to help women prevent abortions at a time when there was widespread mortality from self-induced abortions.

And, I'd rather have my tax dollars go to improving the public schools so that a greater majority of American children can benefit, rather than to vouchers for a select few. Why shouldn't Obama send his girls to an excellent and safe school that he can afford when the DC public schools are among the worst in the nation? I don't see how Republicans giving a few Black kids vouchers will help improve those schools for the wider (majority Black) population in DC.

1. You misspelled "Barack." When Dan Quayle read the misspelled word "potatoe" improperly spelled by an elementary school teacher, you leftists went stark raving insane, calling Quayle "stupid" for his misspelling error. Yet for some strange reason, you don't apply the same standard to yourselves.

2. Trent Lott's apology for his remarks about Strom Thurmond didn't avail him anything at all. But somehow, because KKK Byrd is a Democrat, you accept HIS apology. Your racist hypocrisy is sickening.

3. David Duke is not, repeat NOT a member of the U.S. Senate. Robert Byrd is.

4. Ronald Reagan is dead. You really need to read up on current events and get your head out of your anal sphincter.

By the way, "Barack The Magic Negro" was written by a lefty at the Los Angeles Times.

Had any conservative publication printed this, it would have been FRONT PAGE NEWS for months, from the New York Times, to USA Today, to Newsweek, to Time, and on and on.

But when a Leftist practices racism overtly, it's... not racism. Or so say the leftists anyway.

For a glimpse of liberal racism there is a "cartoon" where Ted Rall puts words into Condoleezza Rice's mouth: "I'm Bush's house niggah". Rall didn't even lose his job over his foul deed.

California-

No, the song "Barack the Magic Negro" was not written by an LA times liberal, it was written by "conservative satirist" Paul Shanklin. It takes its title from an LA times op-ed article by a cultural critic named David Ehrenstein. The original article was titled "Obama the 'Magic Negro'". Ehrenstein attempted to make a bizarre and sophomoric point about Obama and white guilt in the column. I wouldn't say that his opinion, or his obsession with race, is particularly influential or relevant to the vast majority of people who supported Obama. I've never heard of him other than in relation to this controversial column: Now apparently he's a harsh critic of Obama from a gay-rights perspective.

Not to speak for middleview, but clearly he knows that Reagan is dead. But surely you know that Ronald Reagan is a revered figure for conservatives. I don't think it's totally irrelevant to bring up his record re:South Africa, or Dick Cheney's for that matter.

Of course there are racist people in both parties...and I'm no fan of Robert Byrd. I feel about him like I feel about the current pope; Surely Catholics should be able to find a leader who wasn't in the Hitler Youth, and West Virginians should be able to find a Senator who wasn't in the Klan. But I don't think hardcore overt racists feel very welcome in the Democratic party right now, for some reason. Fortunately they are a very marginal group at this point in our history.

Keep up the spell-checking efforts! But I can't help thinking they're just a little bit selective, since you ignore all typos by like-minded posters.

...while ignoring his own racist colleagues on these boards. Odd how many of them are Fraycons, isn't it? Virtually ALL of them, I'd say.

You are a liar and a scumbag. You need to sit down and shut up.
