Superbad, super sweet!
by ricepice

Dana,

Morale code? Really? Sense when does comedy also have to be moral to be considered great? I mean, ripping on your friends is the first rule of adolescent male behavior 101. Sure Superbad is vulgar, crude, and amoral at almost every turn. I would argue that it succeeds because of these qualities and not in spite of them. I am personally thankful that we finally get a movie that isn’t playing to the most sensitive of sensibilities and is indeed super bad!

I have to agree with ricepice - at that age usually booze and girls takes precedence over friends, but not to the point where it's mean spirited - it's like an unwritten code tt friends live by - if you have the chance and I don't, take it.. and for the Love of God tell me allt he details later...

Are you implying this movie is great? And no, the first rule is not ripping on your friends, or they soon would not be your friends. To be correct, females are just as ruthless to each other at that age as males could ever be. Males at that age value loyalty above all else (and if you are a male and that was not your experiance than you missed out) belonging to a group and are not the single minded sex crazed simpletons, Hollywood seems to want to portey them now a days (see: American Pie). Most of the life long freinds are developed at this age. The morals the reviewer is referring to are just those real values, loyalty, trust, companionship...Not all relationships are such as Paris Hilton's, real humans still exist. The problem with movie was not that it porteyed one or two males with these negative stereotypes but all of them.

Uhhh yeah, I am implying that it is great. Are you implying that it sucks? If you would recall, all the friends in this movie remain friends even after all the ripping is done. I don't see how that shows a lack of loyalty, trust, and companionship. Also, your life long friends are the ones that you made when you were 17? Either you are 19 years old or you need to expand outside the boards of your very small social circle.
