"SALVATION IS OF THE JEWS."
by Dennis St. John
-1 Reply

So said Jesus Christ, a Jew, while speaking to his disciples (all Jews) in the presence of his apostles, who were likewise all Jews. All the first Christians were Jews. In the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, showing future things to come in culmination, Jesus is seated on the throne of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob surrounded by twenty-four thrones upon which sit the twelve (Jewish) apostles and the twelve (Jewish) patriarchs of the twelve tribes of Israel. No Gentiles mentioned or in sight.

Gee, I wonder whose right, Jesus Christ or Rick Warren?

Gentiles have the hope of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Jews have the assurance of deliverance through the promise of Abraham. "For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself."

Paul likened Judaism to an olive tree and warned Gentiles to exercise humility, reminding them that they are only grafted in branches and that it is far easier to pluck out grafted branches than natural branches. Also, following the metaphor to a logical inference, it is manifestly obvious that the roots and bole of a tree are greater than any of the branches, since they are the source of life to the branches.

If Rick Warren would only take the time to read the Bible he might discover that Christianity is in fact a sect of Judasim.

44And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

45But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

46Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

47For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

48And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

49And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.

50But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.

51But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.

52And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.

The point is that no one, including Rick Warren, knows who Jesus will elect to save or not. "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." God is not a genie who can be corked in a bottle. No one owns God, and a careful reading of the Bible shows that he has saved all manner of persons. Samson, a righteous judge in Israel, by the power of the Holy Ghost which came upon him, murdered thirty men and stole their garments to pay off a gambling debt. So-called Christian churches never go near these complex themes.

"For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that hardening in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so ALL ISRAEL WILL BE SAVED, as it is written: 'The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; for this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.' Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."

From the time of Adam the Son of God until Abraham, the father of the Hebrew nation, was 1948 years. From the time of Jesus the Son of God, called the second Adam, until the re-emergence of the nation state of Israel on the world stage (a miracle in itself) was 1948 years. The times of the Gentiles is fulfilled.

How do you arrive at the 1948 yrs. number (Adam to Abraham)...and how many years between Abraham and Jesus (any significance there)?

Being a Jew seems to be a big deal for a lot of people. Why? Is being Jewish mentioned in the Old Testament?

Bullshit. You are are in contradiction of the standard Christian theology. But that's all any the salvation stuff is anyway.

Read Romans, Daniel and Revelations and you find over and over again that the Jew is held responsible to find the Faith and accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior. It also show that they will be held accountable first for this then the Gentile. Then you have Christ saying: “I am the way , the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

You see the Jewish Nation are God’s chosen however he made a covenant with them and they failed to keep their end of the covenant, so we and the Jew all live under the new covenant. We can not say that all Jews are condemned just as we can not say that all gentiles are condemned. We can say that God has promised the Jewish nation that every nation that goes against them will feel Gods punishment. The Jew as well as the Gentile must accept Christ as their personal savior and the sacrifice that he made as the payment for their sins.

The genealogies given in the book of Genesis. Look at chapter 5: "This is the book of the genealogy of Adam...after he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years...etc." It just takes careful calculation.

In the Old Testament, the Jews were called Hebrews. They kept very accurate and exhaustive records of their tribal affiliations until the final diaspora by Rome in about 70 AD, at which time they were essentially scattered to the winds and the genealogical records were lost. The patriarch Judah is considered to be the most pre-eminent, as attested to by the special blessing of Jacob and by the fact that the Messiah is called the Lion of the tribe of Judah. When they lost track of who belonged to which tribe, they all ascribed themselves to the tribe of Judah, the diminutive of which is Jew, and their religion is called Judaism.

You are correct in as much as the fact that no salvation is possible without the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, whether Jew or Gentile, and all men of faith see that fact. "Abraham rejoiced to see my day, and he saw it and was glad." Only Jesus of Nazareth kept the Law of Moses perfectly and never sinned. All the rest of mankind, as many as shall be saved, are therefore dependent on him for salvation.

That still does not obviate God's design to raise up a great nation from the loins of Abraham. What God purposes to accomplish will be done. The millennial reign of Christ on earth will complete that work. The six days of creation in Genesis is actually a prophetic overview of the six thousand years allotted to man on the earth (Adam and Eve were not the first humans). In the interim, God still uses the Jews for his divine will. The parable of the laborers who went early into the fields to bear the heat and burden of the day, then resented the laborers who came late and were paid the same wages is a lesson of the Jews and Gentiles. The Jews have born the truth of the only living God and thus earned the enmity of all nations that hate God, thereby being witnesses against those nations.

The last prayer of Jesus regarding the unbelieving Jews was, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." Obviously, God heeded his prayer.

Also, don't forget that while something called Christianity was spreading across Europe like a cancer, the church was in fact spirited away into the wilderness for 1,260 years.

All Biblical prophecy is centered on Israel and the Jewish people. The Great Tribulation which so-called Christian churches are looking for has already come and gone. It is commonly called the Holocaust. That, combined with the re-emergence of Israel on the world stage, gives a clear indication of where we stand in the prophetic book of Revelation. Since there is a very significant gap between the Gentile and Jewish records of about 231 years, and since Jesus said that day (1,000 year period) would be cut short, there is no way to pinpoint the exact time these final events will occur. However, there remains the prophecy of John regarding a cataclysmic event of Biblical proportion which may have seemed utterly fantastic in his day, but today scientists are deeply concerned about the possibility of that catastrophe that will end life on earth as we know it.

Another asteroid or comet collision would do the trick. Nuclear annihilation as well. Mulitple crust upheavals in the tectonic plates might trigger global super volcanic eruptions. Then, ultimately, when our star, the Sun, becomes a red giant it will engulf the planet itself.

One thing is certain; all but the nuclear event, are normal astronomical or geologic events that occur regularly. Hardly a supernatural intrusion. That's laughable. When you view the Earth for what it is within the size and scope of the Universe, it would be like a subatomic particle, with little specs on it quibbling and squabbling over who owns it, so concieted that they create gods in their own image as a show of one upmanship over another. How sad.
