Palestinian question
by SlateReader9

The question of a Jordanian-Palestinian confederation is dismissed in this article just like Jordanian officials dismiss it. The reason for the later is obvious. But in reality such a confederation should be explored. It is the obvious answer to the ongoing Palestinian question.

Jordan is a completely 20th century creation. There is no history of Jordanian people previous that isn’t shared with the current Palestinian peoples. I don’t see a reason for the present day division. Such a confederation would give the refugees a homeland and the potential for a lasting middle-eastern peace. Israel should not be the only one asked to make concessions to bring peace to the region. It seems to me that the arbitrary propping up of self-serving governments, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, etc. at the expense of the people groups is the true problem in the Middle East. Israel is used as an excuse by Middle Eastern caliphates to justify their own existence. The United States should do the right thing and advocate self-determination for legitimate people groups and not just prop up illegitimate governments.

Yeah, but.... my impression (fwiw) is that there is a cultural divide between the "Palestinians" and the "Jordanians" which predates 1948; ironically, my feeling is that the Palestinians' experience with "the Zionist enterprise" put them closer to modern, European style progressive economic/social/cultural model while the Jordanians maintain the classic Middle Eastern thinking. I don't know if that would have made the Palestinians ideal partners for the Israelis, or made them competitors for the same economic niche, had things worked out better.
High Cost of Injustice
by viewpoint
The king of Jordan (educated in Britain) has said that the Israeli-Palestinian argument is at the core of the major conflicts in the Middle East.

Polls in the region find that most Muslims agree.

The very injustices that the U.S. Congress is afraid of occurring from a Muslim religious state have already been occurring from a Jewish religious state.

And the resistance to these injustices has increased over the years, and has now become hi-tech. And since the injustices are based on religion, the resistance has naturally drawn in religious groups, though it remains fundamentally political. And since the U.S. is seen as a proxy for Israel in this, the growing counter-offensive has naturally expanded to include the U.S.

As the conflict in the Middle East spills over into America, Americans are now waiting in long security lines at airports and being told another major attack is inevitable.

All because American voters continue supporting a massive, undemocratic injustice against the Muslims of Palestine.

So now we have Cheney and the Israelis trying to move the public mind toward an attack on Iran. Very short sighted.

Dear reader9,

I wonder all the time if most Americans are ignorant or naive.

Why most Americans believe the lies of pro Israel mainstream media?

If Jordan is a completely 20th century creation, what about Israel?

If you think that confederation would give the refugees a homeland and the potential for a lasting middle-eastern peace, YOU ARE WRONG. When Israel returns back the stolen land of Palestenians, the long lasting peace will be possible.

Do you call, asking a thief to return what he has stolen a sacrifice?you really have a strange logic.

You said "Israel is used as an excuse by Middle Eastern caliphates to justify their own existence" , If you think alittle bit more about the Middle East problem, you will find that the situation is the opposite of what you think. Israel is using the US to crush its enemies like Iraq, Iran and Syria, by spreading lies about them knowing that naive Americans will belive these silly lies.
