Hey, Mr. Know-It-All
by granARJ
The word you're looking for is not "dribble," it's "drivel." What was that you were saying about men always being right?
Eh...
by Leg_iron

"Dribble" could work, in a colloquialistic sorta way.

As in: "Pardner, if'n yore pie-hole keeps dribblin' that-thar nonsense 'bout Evil-lution, there'll be a fresh hole up on Boot Hill 'fore nightfall..."

But in the case you've referenced I believe you are right.

The funny thing about so called 'know-it-alls' and relationships is that in relationships, emotions tend to matter more than logic. It took a few failed relationships before I realized how important it is to not be right all the time and how to be something other than wrong and graceful.

Another cute little fact, not all 'know-it-alls' are men.

Those of German heritage are know-it-alls. Yes, I'm German and yes, I know this as a fact.

I had a marriage counselor ask my husband and me, "Do you want to be RIGHT? Or do you want to be MARRIED?" That line has always stuck with me. Sometimes you have to decide which thing is more important ..... the relationship or "winning" the argument.

As we say in my business, you can always tell a German, but you can't tell him much.

(But we say it with love, right, Rain?)

you're an American....

True. A taxi driver over there is about....

...as smart as a CEO over here.

p.s. there aint no love in rain. who was it, Camus?, said an American soul is cold and hard. he was half right, being a Frenchman, he forgot the word larcenous.

p.s. this quote from Maximo Zeledon sums it up nicely....
by intersurfa

"Regrettably, our current cultural dialogue is centered on desperate bachelorettes seeking true love on network television, the arrest of a fading pedophile pop star, and the promiscuous habits of a Hollywood starlet. Not only are we a nation of misguided opinions, bad taste and self-adulation, we are also deeply dissatisfied citizens in need of answers and greater meaning. Indeed, we live in a society that promotes lies, illusions and fairy tales — all of which have become deeply entrenched in our psyche, turning us into what Jean-Paul Sartre called automatons."

It fits the whole shabang here, particularly Rain.

p.s. this quote from Bill Shakespeare sums it up nicely....
by Rain
- "Methinks thou doest protest too much." Or, in more modern terms - "It takes one to know one."

Tell it to the Bild.

Watch any German TV lately? Hardly a source of enlightened discourse.
