A moment of silence would be appropriate
by Curiousness

Just skip all this controversy and go for the the golden moment of silence to pray, reflect, or whatever helps America at this point. As the religion lets go of my mind I've begun caring about equal rights for all Americans and have been involved in discussions regarding gay rights. Perhaps this is some kind of penance for having been in the religious spewing lot for so long, but I realized when writing my words of support and gay people being equal and all this, I could really have used my time and energy on supporting our country not just one special interest group that is revealing itself as quite narcissistic in the midst of our national crisis. I really hope that someone can use the court system to prove their point with equal rights for gays. If they march in my state I'd be willing to march with them. BUT

It's like we've been told there's a hole in our ship that needs to be fixed or we're all going to sink and the gay community is insisting on getting married before they die, the religious nuts are focused on keeping the gay people from kissing each other goodbye and the remaining few must fix the problem with everyone yelling over them.

Gees!

Quite so. Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
