Wieghing in on the shoe thrower....

I am no fan of George Bush and have on more than one occaision said that somebody should knock him off for his cooperation with the Globalist forces that are seeking to create a world wide, permanent underclass. But then you would also have to go through a list of several thousand politicians, bankers, and elite power brokers to be fair to the process. Probably not plausible though certainly wishful.

In any case we have the shoe thrower who thought he was going to get his 32 virgin severance from this life and probably wishes he did at this point.

What I am trying to figure out here is the position of the American left on this one. So far I have not seen anything definitive but I do find myself wondering if the position would be so quiet for the President elect...personally I think it would be but I don't know that for a fact, I'm just hoping. has MSNBC offered this guy a job yet?

When a reporter is given security clearance to a conference that includes a world leader they have to go through a certain amount of scrutiny and have to make some promises. I assume this was done with the shoe thrower too. Personal feelings aside there is no question in my mind that if he was shot dead on the spot he would have been getting everything he asked for and really would have only himself to blame. I still think he might have been better off that way. You see the Iraqis don't really care about George Bush but they do care about being embarrassed and they were embarrassed mightily the other day. You may also be certain that the Secret Service will be giving out some new training directives after a few demotions. This guy is never going to have a life again in Iraq and nobody is going to put him up....not even Bill Ayers because while they all applaud him they really don't want to support him as will be seen going forward. He may be a national hero in Iraq but he is not a hero with Maliki and right now that's what more or less determines his future.

Hey I know, maybe he can come here and live with one of the left leaning folks who post here. Whaddaya think? He probably makes some bang up Hummus!

Seriously though is anyone here offended that the UNITED STATES has been effectively insulted? Forget about the man in the suit, what about the meaning of his office? ....or is it really true that as I have been saying for some time now that the office itself has been relegated to irrelevance??

just sent me an email with a little game in it. GW is behind a wall and his head keeps popping up at different places. Your job is to guess where and throw the shoe at him. You get points for hitting him on the head. The guy is a hero in the Middle East and beyond to all the people who think America is a bully and GW ruined Iraq. Judging him by our standards is a waste of time. My bet is that Iraq will make a show of him and then quietly let him go after a year or so. If they go hard on the guy, all hell is going to break loose. Trying to understand their mentality is very hard for most Westerners. All I can say is that the guy had balls and was obviously very upset at GW. Was it right? Not by me but then, I do not live in a country that was invaded twice by the Bush family.

REALLY, REALLY OFFAL DONE WRITED: I am no fan of George Bush and have on more than one occaision (sic) said that somebody should knock him off for his cooperation with the Globalist forces that are seeking to create a world wide, permanent underclass. Dear Stupid,

The "world wide" (sic) permanent underclass would be the poor souls living in Marxist, i.e. liberal, societies such as Cuba and North Korea - you know, those places you Marxists said would eliminate the underclass.....

I feel your pain. Really I do.

But your post filled with little sophomoric asides about what the left is or isn't, about what the left is feeling or should feel is pretty much bullshit to me. Bush is an insult to us, to all of us. Yeah even to people like you, although you may not be able to see it. Our country has lost our historic place in the world in no small part because of him. The way in which we are viewed by the world is encapsulated in that shoe thowing incident. Get over it. In most civilized countries Bush would be facing some serious legal hurdles right about now. His future might very possibly include prison time or worse. He's lucky we're no longer civilized.

Frankly, as far as countries go, the US and POTUS Bush should have been immensely pleased to see how much of a "democracy" (vis a vis free expression, free speech and free thoughts) the country of Iraq had become.

Even PM Maliki should have been pleased, for the simple fact that now they could see the fruits of all those months and months of fighting and dying in their country, have finally come to provide a platform in which a regular Iraqi citizen could stand up in a press Conference, and "freely speak his mind"...and not be executed the next day.

IMAGINE if that had happened during the regime of Saddam Hussein!

Not only would the journalist have been executed, but his entire family would have also been jailed or executed along with him.

Iraq has come a long way and Pres Bush should have been pleased as punch at seeing that fine example of "a democratic citizenship freedom of speech and expression" on his last farewell Press Conference!!

Finally, Bush should have felt quite "at home", since all that kind of shit happens on a daily basis all around the US, and all leaders here in the US are pretty much used to it as well as being inured to it (meaning that they don't let it bother them one bit)...and what with the concept of "public demonstrations", and "public marches" to oppose or demonstrate about this or that that is happening in a country, Bush should have instantly realized that all of this Iraqi military occupation and warring in Iraq was finally producing "good results" in that example of that poor journalist's "public demonstration of opposition" to pres Bush and the war effort!!!

What they don't realize is that if "throwing shoes" at offenders could become the "norm", as opposed to "suicide bombers and suicide bombing" attempting to be the norm during these last few years there in Iraq, Iraq would have made an immense "leap of faith" in terms of teaching ordinary civilians "how to express offense and opposition" by simply " throwing shoes" in public at any cardboard image of any one they are opposed to!!

THROWING SHOES is good!

SUICIDE BOMBERS is bad!!

Man Up, PM Maliki and POTUS BUSH!

Stand up for the very principles that you are constantly talking about.

Democracy in Iraq is about "throwing shoes at offenders, freely speaking your mind in public, and demonstrating to the world that you have the guts to insult and embarass" national leaders without haveing to get "executed on the spot", as was done during the Saddam Hussein regime.

Why, oh why is it that when "great moments" appear in our daily history, that those self-anointed leaders cannot see or understand "those great moments in history"?

President Bush should privately call PM Maliki and request that the journalist be freed and his family given some money, since that journalist proved without a doubt that the democratic concepts of free speech and freedom of expression are beginning to take hold and take root within that great country of Iraq.

Yes... the military occupation in IRAQ has NOT BEEN IN VAIN!!!

Man up, PM Maliki and Pres. Bush!

It blows my mind that people are even asking questions like "Would we react differently if the shoe had been thrown at Obama?" Gee...I don't know...is there some kind of moral difference between someone who has demonstrated near complete incompetence with their job thereby costing thousands of people their lives and someone who hasn't? I think there might be. That moral difference makes it OK to throw shoes at one of them (the shitty one) and not the other.

Think of the term "just deserts" but keep your mind on the "just" part and it should be obvious who Iraqi's are justified in throwing shoes at.
