Ever hear of a Kennedy who lost an election?
by White Camry

N. Y. Governor David Paterson is a Democrat. He wants to put into Clinton's Senate seat a fellow Democrat who can keep it in the next election. Caroline Kennedy (Schlossberg - remember that?) may be the least qualified of all the names kicked around but let's face it - she's a Kennedy. That's why Paterson picked her. Yes, she has only name recognition; even J. Lo. has more than that (not by much.) But when was the last time a Kennedy lost an election?

Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, distaff member of the nobility, lost in an attempt to become Queen of Maryland in 2002. She is to date the only possessor of the Blood Royal to be rejected by the commoners, although it was a close race, and Maryland is somewhat distant from the Kennedy zone of worshipfulness.

yes, it's a very sweet political move for Caroline Kennedy. She gets the seat without having to run and campaign for it and then she gets the power of "incumbency" to fund raise to stave off any opposition in the next election. And lets face it, NY'ers have already shown they will elect people on name recognition only.
